First time in an adventure park? 5 essential tips

Is it your first time in an adventure park and you have butterflies in your stomach? Don’t worry! At Mendexa Abentura Park we have over 70 challenges among the pine trees. Remember that this is not just a physical sport: it is an adventure to fully test your concentration, balance, and intelligence, and to overcome your limits.

If heights give you pause or you don’t know what to bring, you are in the right place. We have often welcomed parents, children, and groups of friends to our park who have never worn a harness before, and they always finish with a smile. Today, to help you enjoy our circuits and overcome your fears, we have prepared 5 essential tips.

The 5 keys to your first adventure

  • Comfortable clothes: Leave your jeans at home! Bring clothes that give you freedom of movement. Keep in mind that you will be wearing a harness between your legs, so comfort is the most important thing to maintain your balance well with every movement.
  • Closed-toe shoes are essential: It is mandatory to bring hiking boots or sports shoes. You must keep your feet well protected and supported to step safely on the cables or trunks; having a solid base is essential for your mind to put fear aside.
  • Hair tied back and no accessories: If you have long hair, it is best to tie it up in a ponytail. Take off rings, bracelets, or large watches. The fewer distractions you have, the easier it will be to put your full attention on the challenge.
  • Follow the instructors’ directions: Upon arriving at the park, our team will welcome you. Follow their instructions and have confidence! The instructors will help you choose the circuits, so everyone can safely experience an adventure tailored to their level.
  • Enjoy and overcome the challenges: Go for it, it’s your turn! Everyone has their own pace; there is no rush. Enjoy the forest environment, leave your fears on the ground, and experience the thrill of overcoming each challenge.

Much more than sport: Mind and balance in play

At Mendexa we are not looking for pure physical strength; strength won’t help you if you lose focus. Each challenge on our circuits (suspension bridges, nets, or moving trunks) is like a small puzzle. You will have to use your intelligence and creativity to think about how and when to take each step and measure a strategy.

This forces your mind and body to act as one: total concentration to maintain balance at heights, and intelligence to overcome obstacles. It is a unique way to see your mind ready and strong!

Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone, put your skills to the test, and experience a perfect adventure?
